Obzor

The resort town of Obzor is halfway between Varna and Burgas. It is approximately 70 km away from the airports of both cities (about 1 hour and 20 minutes traveling time).
Ancient Greeks gave this old Black sea settlement the name Heliopolis — city of the Sun. The Romans built a temple devoted to Jupiter here. The remains of this temple and the old Roman city wall can still be seen in the town park.
The wide stretch of beach is 7 km long. There are many small family hotels in Obzor, accommodation in high category hotels is also available.
14 km south of Obzor lies cape Emine (it is the end of the chain of Stara Planina mountains, which divide Bulgaria in two). You can find a beacon house and the remains of an old Bulgarian fort Emon here. As legend has it the Thracian tsar Reus, who took part in the Trojan War was born in Emon.
Obzor is a place suitable in all respects for peaceful and quiet family vacations without the noise, the bustle and the excess of big industrial resorts.
