Sunny Beach — the Bulgarian Summer mega-resort — is situated 35 km away from Burgas (the trip from Burgas airport takes approximately 30 minutes).
There are over a hundred hotels of various categories in the area — from the humble but wonderfully placed “Lyulin” and “Pyrin” to the five-star “Helena Resort” complex with its gigantic swoop and original architecture resembling a sea-side Disneyland. The choice is yours.
Apart from hotels Sunny Beach provides all imaginable services a modern resort has to offer. There are two aqua-parks, a great many restaurants, bars (from innocent karaoke to frivolous striptease), cafes, children’s playgrounds, discotheques, arcades, casinos, shops, markets and so on.
The wonderful wide sandy beach (very picturesque thanks to sand dunes) is perfect for getting a good sun-tan and pursuing different kinds of sports. You can go fearlessly swimming in the sea (but not too far beyond the buoy).
The museum-town of Nessebr is not far, so you can supplement the resort attractions with a serious cultural and historical tour (with a romantic touch if you wish).
Throngs of sun-tanned and good-looking vacationers stroll down the central promenade of Sunny Beach at night, with happy and content faces. Everyone’s invited!
