Starozagorski Bani is a national balneotherapy resort, located in the western part of the mountain Sarnena Sredna Gora, 360 m above the sea level, 14 km northwest of the city of Stara Zagora. Starozagorski Bani is surrounded by an extremely clean, ecollogically unpolluted, environment.

With its mild climate and hot springs it has attractedpeople since ancient times. There are excavations of ancient roman thermae in the center of the resort. Near the resort is located the site, called Holy Mother Step – a rock formation resembling a female footprint, which, the legend has it, was left by Mother of God herself. The place isconsidered sacred and healing.

The climate in the resort is transitional-continental with a slight mountain influence, determined by the resort's boundary location between the subtropical and the temperate-continental zone, and to some extent tempered by a Mediterranean influence. The winter is warm and short, the summer days are sunny and hot, and the evenings are cool.

The mineral water from the springs in the area of Starozagorski Bani is weakly mineralized, hyperthermal, with neutral reaction. It contains hydrocarbons, sulphates, calcium, magnesium, silicon, fluorine and other trace elements. The water comes out at a temperature of about 40 ° C and with an explotation flowof 12 l / sec. from 1600 m depth.

The physico-chemical properties of the mineral water from Starozagorski Bani make it extremely effective for a variety of medical conditions. It has healing properties for diseases of the musculoskeletal system, peripheral nervous system, also for gynecological diseases, kidney and urologic diseases, gastrointestinal, liver and biliary diseases, as well as respiratory diseases.
