Kustendil Booking SPA and treatment programs
The resort Kyustendil is situated in southwest Bulgaira, in the south part of the valley of the same name at the foot of the Osogovo mountain. It is a balneological and tourist centre of national and international importance and also an archeological and architectural reserve.
Kyustendil is one of the most ancient Bulgarian towns, dating back to 25 centuries ago. It’s ancient name Pautalia derives from the Thracian word “pote”(spring), meaning “A town of springs”. In Roman times the town used to be a huge balneotherapy centre.
Here the main natural healing resources are the mineral waters and the climate.
The mineral springs are the most valuable asset of the town. The temperature, at the place where the mineral water is captured, is 74° С (165.2 ºF) – one of the hottest in the country. The water is clear, colorless with a hydrogen sulfide smell.
The healing properties of the water are mainly due to the high content of sulphide elements and hydrogen sulfide in it. It is characterized as hyperthermal, hydrocarbonate-sulphate-sodium, sulphidic, fluoric and silicic.
It has proven healing properties for some kinds of diseases. The mineral springs of Kyustendil are favourable for treatment of respiratory diseases, locomotor diseases, degenerative joint diseases, periphery nervous system diseases and gynecological diseases.
Thanks to the great number of mineral springs and the favourable climate features and nature, the resort is visited and open all throughout the year.
