Pirin Golf is situated at the foothills of the mountain Pirin. The design of its two golf courses (Ian Woosnam and Pirin Pine) aims to arouse an interest not only in avid, but also in beginner golfers. The pride of the club is the 18 hole championship golf course (par 72), designed by the captain of the European team for Ryder Cup 2006 - Ian Woosnam. The second golf course has 5 holes and is named after its natural surrounding - Pirin Pine. It was designed by a young German company.
The almost constant wind in the Razlog Valley impacts the strategy and the choice of clubs during the play on the Ian Woosnam golf course. Everybody, who fails to take the wind into consideration, is to end up in one of the many bunkers, scattered across the whole golf course. Their overall number is around 80 and none of them can be easily avoided.
The natural topography of the landscape and the slightly uneven areas on the green make the course a real challenge. The training area (Driving Range, Pitching Range, Putting Green) is in the centre of the complex, situated between the golf courses Ian Woosnam and Pirin Pine. Avid players will have the opportunity to train and improve their shots in one of the best and very impressive golf academies in Central and Eastern Europe. The Academy is equipped with modern training video systems and is managed by Nikolai Stanev - the only Bulgarian golf instructor certified by the European Professional Golf Association.
