Ski resort Chepelare is located in Rodopi mountain, 222 km away from Sofia, 72 km from Plovdiv and 10 km from the famous ski resort of Pamporovo.

Sports opportunities in winter:

Alpine skiing and snowboard - ski tracks are the longest ski-downhill in the Balkans - 6 km. Red track for alpine skiing and snowboards with 1.2 km length.   
Biathlon and ski-running - 20 km  trails, according to European standards, called Mechi Chal.
Red tracks with a length 3250 m are designed for professionals. There are 47 rifles, which can cover the trails over 100 hours at a temperature - 3 degrees.

Green tracks - length 6 km are designed for beginners and intermediate.
Chair lifts: one 2-chair lift and one 4-chair lift with a capacity of 2000 people per hour. The maximum transitional altitude is a 720 m.
Every year Chepelare hosts winter and summer biathlon state competitions - Chepelare Cup and Mechy Chal Cup.
